Marco, i told you you would be very happy, and fortuned...Delighted with Isla tumbadoras. Mario is very busy, put a lot of hours on each drum, for the perfect product. I think one of our top conga maker's of our day.
I had a good time ,reading the story, of what your wife did, That was veery creative, i think she just wanted to surprise you in a unique way.
I have personally played them, they are solid, belly on the right spot, for that great unique fat sound.
Each drum is special, they have a good belly, evry drum has it's curves, other drums been made have the same shape, the quinto, conga ,and tumba, all have the same shape.
But each drum suppost to have a different tone, and the shape of the drum, makes a difference in the tone quality.
If you look at most drums that have been made so far, they are pretty uniformed on the shape.
For the exception in my opinion of drums such as, Valje, Fat conga,
But above all Junior Tirado's and Isla's have that very unique belly.
The entire line of different size drums in their entire repertorio, each drum fro the Requinto, to the Tumba, they are all special, and have a unique shape, and sound.
