The majority of the public, non percussionist and even some percussionist do not know about drums like Junior's, M.Smith, SOS ect.. I also play in wedding bands very commercial but its great money, again they tell me my beautiful Oak Gon Bops are ok for rehersal but prefer the flash of comercial drums on stage.Rey Arroyo Jr.

Actually, you're missing the point. But I'll clear it up for you. You only assume congueros are the clown because of decorated congas but that is because you and others like yourself think decorations are clown like. No one else really cares. It's all in your head. So if you have coloured congas and YOU think you're a clown, than you probably are. But the rest don't really care. You are playing the clown because you think you are...But that thought doesn't cross anyone else's mind.
